Trader’s Corner: Summer Trading Season is Hot

Lots of trades were sent in for us to vote on.  There are some interesting league setups this week that we don’t often see. Let’s get right to it. Vote for the group of players you would rather have.

Use the form just above the comments section at the bottom of the page to submit your trades for us to vote on next week.

This one came in a dynasty 6×6 league with 19 teams, 15 prospects per team:

The next two trades came in from a 24 team, H2H, 40 man roster with up to 60 MiLB players. $189M salary cap with contracts @10% increase per year. MiLB players with no experience do not count against cap and follow an arbitration scale for at least 5 years control once they reach prospect limits:

Trade #1:

Trade #2:

10 team dynasty points league with no contracts:

Same league as above:

H2H 5×5 OPS and QS instead of AVG and Wins:

12 team 7×7 head to head league. Keep 10 per year with no contracts:

16 team 6×6 dynasty league:

This one came in from a 14 team 7×7 dynasty league with 40 man rosters, no distinction between majors and minors players.

10 team 5×5 roto dynasty league with 25 man rosters:

12 team full keeper (dynasty) points league:

20 team 6×6 dynasty league with 35 man rosters:

This trade was made in a 15 team mixed dynasty league with 30 active slots and 20 minor league slots. No salary and you keep players forever. The yearly free agent budget (FAAB) is $1000.:

20 team dynasty league:

20 team dynasty H2H league with OPS and Holds:

This is a different sort of league. 20 team league with 23 different counting stats, including fielding percentage for example.

Hey, went all out rebuilding, traded Grilli and Heston for Kolek; Familia for Shipley; Ramos, Quintana, Brett Phillips, and Gio for Moncada, Hoffman, Reddick, and Ervin Santana (last two guys were b/c of roster constraints); Jered Weaver for Nick Williams; Shields for pre-post-spleen Dahl, Alex Jackson, and Nate Eovaldi. Thoughts on all of those? Thanks!

I think you did very well Tim. Those moves should set you up nicely for a return to contention in 2017 or 2018. Looks like you still have some more trade chips to move (Reddick, Santana, Eovaldi).

How in the world is anyone supposed to give a remotely informed opinion on this?

And how does one even get 23 different stats? WAR, fWAR, FIP, xFIP, and smugness factor?

Would you trade Longoria and Choo for Daniel Norris and Tai Walker (rebuilding)? Thanks!

That deal makes sense since you are in rebuild mode so I would do it, but I can’t help but wonder if you couldn’t get a bit more?
