For this article, I asked each pitcher what they’d say about themselves. Surprisingly, none of them got back to me, so I took the liberty of answering for them.
Mason Miller (Age: 27)
Humbly, I have to admit that I’m the #1 fantasy relief pitcher. Traded to the Padres last season from Oakland, I was expected to transition into a starting pitcher. Well…..about that. Yeah, the Padres had second thoughts and decided to keep me and my fastball as the #1 closer in baseball. Can’t blame them there. I’ve converted 50 saves out of 57 save chances since 2024. Some say I was flat out filthy coming over the Padres with a 0.77 ERA, with 45 strikeouts to 10 walks over 23 innings. Is there anyone else to challenge me for this spot next year?
Andres Munoz (Age: 27)
The last 4 seasons I have been one of the most consistent relievers in all of baseball. This season I am looking to improve on my strikeouts and lower my walk rate. With a 98% whiff rate, you would have thought I went over 100 K. Alas, I did not. For me to reach the very top, I need to improve my BB%. Draft or trade for me and you know what you’re going to get
Jhoan Duran (Age: 28)
I used to be the closer for the Minnesota Twins and now I reside in Philadelphia playing for the Phillies. My save chances should increase with a more competitive team. In four seasons, my career ERA is 2.44, I’ve produced 90 saves, and I’ve been durable. Don’t jinx it.
Edwin Diaz (Age: 31)
I’ve been on top for a long time, fellas. I think it’s time to remind you of who I am. Career 2.82 ERA, 253 saves out of 295, and a 4.61 K/BB. Oh, by the way, I now play for the most loaded team in baseball, the Dodgers. How in the world am I not #1 on the Dynasty Guru RP Chart? Oh wait, I’m 31, is that the problem? C’mon now, these younger guys above me are just getting started. I’ll go get 50 saves just to show you fools what’s what.
Cade Smith (Age: 26)
Have you not noticed me at all? The only two seasons in my professional career, I have over 100k’s in 149 innings. I’m the only other reliever besides Bryan Abreu to be going for a 3rd straight year with at least 100k’s, as he’s going for his 4th. Now that I am closing games for the Guardians, will you finally draft me like I am amongst the best RP’s in baseball? I bet I make top 3 RP next season, when I repeat. How could you deny me? And I don’t throw rocks at roosters.
Josh Hader (Age: 31)
Hader’s gonna hate? All I do is strike batters out and close games when I’m healthy. Right now, I’m recovering from biceps tendinitis and a previous shoulder capsule strain. Don’t ignore me, but keep an eye on my injury report. I’m a 3-time, 3-time, 3-time MLB reliever of the year winner. What? You’re going to drop me down if my injury becomes worse? Tell me you didn’t just say that!
Abner Uribe (Age: 25)
Uribe! I say Uribe is here to challenge you to a pitching duel, Mr. Miller. See my RP Risers Article published on Tuesday of this week.
Devin Williams (Age: 31)
297 innings, 465 strikeouts, and a career ERA of 2.45 despite a 4.79 ERA last season. And this is how you treat me! By ranking me 8th. If I never went to New York, I’d be #1 on this list. Wait, 2026 was my free agent year, I can leave New York! OH NO! I chose the New York Mets. Hope I don’t succumb to the New York media pressure and fall apart. When I don’t, I’m still the man!
Bryan Abreu (Age: 28)
I’m one of the most underrated relievers in all of baseball. It’s very difficult to be as good as I am, and I don’t even close games for my team. Imagine if I did? All I’ve been doing the last 3 seasons is getting holds, holds, and holds. Did I mention holds yet? Only 87 of them, combined with over 100 K and 74 innings each year. I bet if I was closing games I’d be higher on this list. Quick question, how many other relievers have at least 100 K plus in each of the last 3 seasons? The answer is just me, and I’m going for a four-peat. Don’t leave me hanging in traditional leagues either, I deliver.
Aroldis Chapman (Age: ? See below)
Ain’t no stopping me now! Can you guess how many teams I have been on? If you said 20, I don’t blame you, but I promise it’s only been 7. Tell me in the comments below which team that I have been on is your favorite. I bet you couldn’t guess my age either. Don’t cheat by looking it up. Before you guess though, let me show you my Statcast data.

Did you say 21? Ah, you’re so sweet, I’m the ripe old age of 37. Maybe I’ll break the record for oldest reliever to throw 100mph. If you’re a rebuilder, trade me away; if you’re a contender, you know to trade for me.
