THE DYNASTY GURU’S 2023 TOP 20 C PROSPECTS, #11-20

Welcome back to our prospect positional rankings as we kick off the bottom half of our top 20 ranks. Catcher is unique as many of the prospects coming up develop as catchers, but then move to other defensive positions in the upper minors or major league level. That makes the bottom of this list interesting, as many of these players are expected to stay at the catcher position and three of them already debuted there in 2022. Of course, most, or rather 6 of the rest have yet to see above High-A ball but all the more reason to be optimistic. We hope you enjoy the list, but let us know on Twitter either way!

Curious that Rushing was #33 on the main list and #18 here, while Romo didn’t make the main list at all but ranks higher here at #18.
Thanks for talking it all in Babbo! Different Gurus are involved with both rankings. The Dyno (overall) list is compiled from a larger number of us while the prospect list is a more concentrated group, who are more of the prospect hounds. So different outcomes aren’t unexpected. Because both players are in the mid-teens on our prospect list, I’d extrapolate Romo to being roughly the mid-30s dyno catcher as well. Personally – I have Rushing higher on both (14th Prospect, 30th Dyno) than Romo (16th Prospect, 32 Dyno) but barely.
