I’ve been often asked how I got started writing for Baseball Prospectus, and frankly, the story is not all that exciting. I had my own blog years ago which I updated on and off, but it was out there. And when Marc Normandin (the former Fantasy Content Manager at BP and current, at the time, manager of Roto Hardball–the now defunct fantasy baseball arm of SB Nation) poked around on Twitter for new writers, I sent him some of my stuff. One thing led to another from there, but the one constant with me was that I just kept writing and writing and writing. Eventually, I had enough of a portfolio and enough confidence to seek out a role at a place like BP, that I had been a consumer of for years.
So why is this relevant? Because I’m looking for more writers to fill out the Dynasty Guru team. So if you’re interested in contributing to the site, send me an e-mail to dynastyguru [at] gmail [dot] com with a few specific things you’ve written so I can check it out. And if you don’t have your own stuff out there, but are really knowledgeable and interested in writing fantasy content, e-mail me as well and I’ll give you an assignment. We’re looking for people who specifically have both experience and a lot of interest in dynasty leagues, from a playing perspective.
I will be taking submissions over the next week, so if you’re interested, get in touch before August 7th. If you have questions, feel free to ask and I’m happy to answer them.
